Acronis Backup: Replication fails with "Cannot use this type of backup archive"

Symptoms

  1. You have a backup plan with replication. Backup format is set to Automatic selection in Backup options.
  2. The resulting archive is in Version 11 format as the original archive was created by older product version
  3. After the archive is deleted in original location, replication fails with the following error:

    Cannot use this type of backup archive.

Introduction

If you need to create a 32-bit Acronis Bootable Media (Linux-based), install Acronis Bootable Media Builder component on a 32-bit Windows operating system using 32-bit installer of Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5. For example, this can be any temporary virtual machine running 32-bit Windows operating system.

If installation on a 32-bit system is not an option, you can use the workaround described below to enable 32-bit bootable media creation using Acronis Bootable Media Builder installed on a 64-bit Windows operating system.

Backup works and backup activities appear in the activities list. Archives were created in the target location (you can check them using Backups page in Management console or by browsing the target folder using any file browser).

Symptoms

You Acronis data center is updated to Acronis Cyber Cloud 8.0.

You receive a "Backup is missing: No successful backups have been performed by the backup plan more than for XX days" alert from a backup plan that is not applied to any device (was revoked from ALL resources but not deleted). 

Cause

Issue in the product.

When you contact Acronis Customer Central, the support professionals will usually need information about your system in order to resolve your problem and will ask you to collect a system report from your computer.

(!) Please make sure to collect system report after you have gathered all the other requested information (Process Monitor Log, PCAP log, etc). This way system report will contain logs related to the issue.
