Symptoms

Acronis Active Protection stops on its own.

"Application error" event about anti_ransomware_service.exe is recorded in Windows Application event log (open Windows Start menu, type eventvwr.msc, press Enter, navigate to Windows Logs - Application).

Cause

Known issue with the software. The application crash occurs when the software is unable to parse configuration files.

Solution

Active Protection can only be enabled from Acronis True Image main program's interface.

Launch Acronis True Image, click the Active Protection tab, and then click the toggle to enable Acronis Active Protection:

You have a backup which is scheduled to start 'Upon time since last backup". You change time interval in this option.

Then you notice that Next backup status turns to Not scheduled.

You want to delete backups from cloud storage. Operation fails with this error message:

Symptoms

Attempt to log in on Account tab in Acronis True Image fails with the following error:

An error occurred while signing in. Please try again later.

When checking the log file C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Logs\ti_console\ti_console.0.log, error OpenSslErrorTextReason: certificate verify failed or 0x14090086 is found.

Cause

Issue with SSL certificate on the computer, particularly, with root certification authority certificate.
